Casa Canova is a delightfully, romantic cottage in the grounds of the owners’ Villa and attached to the caretaker’s accommodation. It does however have privacy and has a lovely view overlooking the Borromean Islands lying in the centre of the lake. These are mini-paradises named after the chief patron of Lake Maggiore, Cardinal Carlo Borromeo.

Location

The furnishings are pretty and the sitting area has a large picture window overlooking the lake, as does the balcony to the double bedroom. The swimming pool* is also to the front and is occasionally used by the owner. There is a pretty, private garden to the rear of the cottage. An open-plan staircase to the first floor has no railing so may be unsuitable for some, especially children.  A 10-minute drive leads to the centre of Verbania town where all purchases are available. Stresa is the chief resort and the main setting-off point for visiting the islands. Behind Stresa, a cable car ride away, rises the Monte Mottarone, a snow-capped peak offering stunning, panoramic views.

First Floor:

Landing with single, divan bed 

One twin/double bedded room with ensuite bathroom with WC, etc. and panoramic balcony

*Pool towels are provided. 

**Although this property is under 3 km from the nearest town, some clients have found the walk back to the property difficult due to it being up hill**

Swimming pool open between 15th May and 15th September (weather permitting)
