General

Il Cerreto is a 16th century farmstead, which was bought by its present owner in a pitiful condition of ruins. It’s hard to imagine that a developer might have the imagination to restructure what would have been extremely basic accommodation to families and pigs alike, into a lovely holiday destination in the heart of the Chianti Classico.  The restoration has taken years and now presents the best of current building technology in terms of comfort and quality and the setting is idyllic, surrounded by unspoilt panoramas.

Location

Sympathetic to local surroundings with a wealth of wooden beams and warm stone walls, the four apartments share a twelve-metre swimming pool, which overlooks the owner’s woodland, vineyards and olive groves.  Each apartment has a furnished terrace for dining out. 

Clients may enjoy a spot of wine tasting since the estate produces wine and olive oil.

The centre of Castellina in Chianti is barely a kilometre distant and is glimpsed in the vista atop its hill.  Here are shops, banks, restaurants, an outlet for hiring mountain bikes and a bus service to Siena.  Florence can each be reached in about an hour, Siena is closer.  All the towns and villages of this splendid region are within short drives.
