General

A characteristic farm building near the owners villa, Lo Strettoio has been overhauled to offer two very pleasant accommodations, one ground floor and one on the first floor. Creative design has allowed for the original features to be preserved and the furnishings are modern. There is a laundry room with washing machine for the use of guests and bicycles are available at no extra cost. A spacious, furnished terrace is used by both apartments and has a large sun shade. A swimming pool is also available for guests use. Covered parking. Ping pong table.

Location

The building is one kilometre from San Gusme and 3 kilometres from the agricultural town of Castelnuovo Berardenga where there are the remains of a 14th century castle.  Both places have shops and restaurants, although San Gusme is smaller.  This is the heart of Chianti country, full of ancient, medieval castles and fortified residences.  The road which tours the wine route passes through many vineyards and olive groves and many of them offer direct sales to the public.  Siena, city of steep, medieval alleys surrounding the Piazza del Campo is approximately 23 kilometres away.  Florence can be reached by car within about an hour and a half, whilst a large outlet mall is within easy driving distance.
