General
The owners of this fabulous property are a Canadian, and a New Zealander, and are good friends of ours. What they have is a completely private, solid stone, country house on two floors, nestled into a hillside of olive groves with glorious views onto the romantic Tuscan hills. That’s the outside - inside they have created a bright and airy, yet cosy, set of rooms that remain in keeping with the farmhouse exterior - characteristic fixtures and fittings blending with a modern state-of-the-art kitchen.
Back outside, there are two terraces for leisure or dining, both naturally shaded and ideal for reading, playing games, or for some long al fresco meals, or just for passing the time while soaking in the beautiful views.
Added to all this is a very private swimming pool with the same wonderful views, perfect for long, lazy, relaxing days!
Location
The lawned garden is well maintained and packed with lavender and rosemary bushes, olive and cypress trees.
The house is located at the far end of a cluster of stone houses called Bricciano and the owners live in a nearby apartment. There is ample parking outside the house, some of which is shaded. There are essential shops, banks and chemists in Gaiole in Chianti, which is less than a ten minute drive from the house.
The impressive 18 metre/58 foot long swimming pool (that the owners discretely use in the absence of the guests) is reached by crossing the gently sloping garden and terraces via stone steps. The pool measures 18m long x 4m wide x 1.4m deep (one depth).
