General

To dine under the stars with family and friends on Chianti Top’s truly magical open terrace is a very special experience.  For this restored Italian manor house, literally perched atop of the Chianti Classico wine region affords in our opinion, one of the most spectacular panoramas in Tuscany itself.  The rolling vineyards and fields of gold meet the rise and fall of the hillsides and the tiny hilltop towns scattered as far as the eye can see. 

And there is room for all the family and friends inside since the owners transformed this Italian home into a cosy country residence.  With three floors of beautifully furnished traditional Italian rooms, with beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls, Chianti Top sleeps up to 12 in total.

Set behind private gates, Chianti Top is private and secure for all who stay.  The surrounding gardens are immaculately kept with areas to rest, relax, dine, enjoy the sun, to BBQ, sit and reflect over the views under the natural shade of the trees.  During the summer months the family will enjoy the outdoor wood burning oven and barbecue.

Location

A drive up into the hills from the Chianti Wine Road near Greve brings us to the tiny hamlet of Lamole.   Apart from a scattering of villas and the charming local chiesa (church) whose bells peal out over this classic Tuscan idyll, most come to Lamole for Ristoro di Lamole, and one of our most favoured restaurants in the region.  In addition to its terrace with spectacular views of the sunsets each evening, Ristoro di Lamole also serves as a bar a grocery shop for those essentials, all in very easy walking distance.

Almost equidistant to Florence (40kms) and Siena (48) kilometres, both are within easy reach.  A delightful little bus carries those in Lamole down to Greve where a regular bus service runs directly to Florence. 

The area is surrounded by woods and well marked paths ideal for those who enjoy exploring on foot.
