Like beads on a necklace the incomparable Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, and Todi are strung together by an oval-shaped road. Just off this road, in saintly central Umbria, is the quiet village of Collazzone, and nearby is Villa Eleonora.
On arrival imposing double electric gates give an inkling as to the magnificence within - an outdoor and an indoor swimming pool*, a gym, a billiards room, a dining terrace with views over undulating patchwork fields and woods - just a few of our favourite things.
Built into the side of a hill the main building, accommodating most of this property’s capacity, starts on the ground floor then descends downwards. The other building is a charming detached cottage that will house four other people in self-contained comfort.
As one would expect from a villa of this standard, all bedrooms have their own en-suite shower or bathroom and one bedroom is actually a suite.

*Use of both the outdoor and indoor pools at the same time is not permitted.

Location

Nearby Collazzone is on the top of an olive-covered hill, almost completely encircled by its defensive walls and almost entirely unspoilt. Otherwise it’s Todi, around 30 minutes away, for everything - exceptional medieval architecture, a tortuous history, an excellent cathedral, Renaissance monuments and of course numerous shops, bars and restaurants.
Ample parking. A spacious furnished panoramic terrace with pergolato, and a gas barbecue, overlooks the outside 15 metre by 5 metre swimming pool beneath and the hills beyond. Inside heated 6 metre by 5metre swimming pool (available at a supplement of Euro 300, payable locally), with sitting area, gives on to the terrace housing the outside swimming pool, well furnished. The billiards room has an Italian-style billiards table and an American pool table. The gym is equipped with weight training and exercise machines. The property is air-conditioned and all TVs have satellite capability.
