For those looking to really explore this beautiful region, also known as the ‘green heart of Italy’, Casa di Zocco proves to be an ideal spot to set up base camp both in comfort and in peace.  

This simple Italian villa is set within a quiet residential cul-de-sac just outside the picturesque village of San Feliciano.  Lying behind electric gates and offering private parking, Casa di Zocco is a quaint single storey home surrounded by well tended gardens.  A covered veranda wraps around the villa ideal for dinner al fresco whilst you can while away the hours in the lounge seating.  The villa also benefits from an outdoor shower and insect screens to all windows.

Location

San Feliciano is a charming fishing village.  From Casa di Zocco, take a short stroll to Zocco Beach, a great place to soak up the sun and simply relax.  Enjoy a drink and a snack at the bar, play a game of volleyball or for a small charge you can take a dip in the swimming pool.  There is also direct access to the lake here, with a whole host of activities to get involved in.  Lake Trasimeno is less than 1km from the villa and is a paradise of water sports enabling you to take your pick at canoeing, fishing, sailing or windsurfing.  The surrounding landscapes do not disappoint either offering a haven for hikers, cyclists and horse trails.  Hop on the ferry at the port of San Feliciano and visit the lake’s three very different islands; Isole Maggiore, Isole Polvese and Isole Minore. 

Moving a little further from home; explore the world-wide famed towns of Assisi, the quiet home town of Saint Francis, Orvieto full of magnificent historical monuments and Perugia itself.  This Umbrian walled town is brimming with history dating back to the Etruscan civilisation and has the most wonderful Duomo right in the heart of the city said to hold the Virgin’s wedding ring.  The Palazzo dei Priori houses the National Art Gallery of Umbria in addition to three museums.  For the party animals amongst you, take a trip to Spoleto and experience its world famous festival; an awesome celebration of dance, drama, music and opera.
