Driving in Italy
Be prepared to drive on the right and in most cases, give way to the right. Seat belts are compulsory in the front and rear, and children should be properly restrained. It is essential to have a warning triangle in case of breakdown. The speed limit in town is 50kms per hour, 90kms per hour on normal roads and on motorways, 110kms per hour in cars up to 1099cc, and 130kms per hour for more powerful vehicles. Tolls operate on all motorways and accept cash.
