The inside of La Sirenetta is an absolute revelation. Renovated to a very high standard it is extremely modern and fresh in one sense but has been tastefully refurbished in sympathy with local style. It is spacious and inviting - you will not be disappointed! Amazingly, La Sirenetta is one of the most historic buildings in Sant'Agata, in fact it was built in the second half of the 700 and was built as a house for non-resident landowners. Whilst over the course of time most of the land has been allocated to other uses, thankfully the building has never undergone major structural changes and remains testimony to the rural architecture of the time. The location is central and within walking distance to the bus stop for buses to Sorrento, Positano and Marina del Cantone.
Bustling Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi provides all the necessary shops, banks, chemist and some fine restaurants. The nearest beach is just 8 kilometres away. The Mediterranean scrubland dominates the coastline along with rocky faces with the colours and the typical aromas of broom, myrtle, valerian, rosemary and carob-tree. The views are charming and very impressive. A network of paths, stretching for about 100 km runs through Massalubrense, the neighbouring Municipalities and the Lattari Mountains overlooking the Amalfi coast, covering the entire area. The larger, and well-known town of Sorrento is just 6 kilometres away, and from here there are ferry boats and hydrofoils to Naples, Capri, Ischia, Amalfi and Positano, as well as various mini-cruises around the coastline.
La Sirenetta is on three levels: The court, the floor and the attic floor.
The spacious courtyard (patio) is accessed either through the large and remote controlled sliding gate that enters directly into the parking area, or through the large door decorated with stone arch typical of the ‘700.
Between the parking and the courtyard there is a brick paved deck area with pergola, furnished with tables and chairs. All areas share the courtyard.Second floor:
Access via the middle terrace, which overlooks the courtyard below with gazebo, furnished with tables and chairs and up a flight of 37 steps (a total of 37 +22) finished in granite and tiles from Vietri leads to the attic.
- Entrance to the kitchen area equipped kitchen with 2 burner stove, dishwasher, microwave and fridge.
- Living/dining area
- Four double bedrooms each with its own individual colour scheme and each with TV and ensuite shower room with WC etc.
- Private terrace furnished with table and chairs with views over to Vesuvius and the Lattari.
Although La Sirenetta has off road parking, the access road is very narrow and not recommended for larger cars. A public car park is available a short walk away, however.
For parties of up to 10 people, a second apartment is also available. Please see below:
