Upon arrival to Villa Tonia, you could be mistaken for thinking that you had arrived at an Italian celebrity hideaway. Its grand and rather imposing entrance of Italian wrought iron gates offer privacy and security likely to be for that of the Hollywood A-list. Go beyond the gates and you are not left disappointed. A palatial setting with sweeping drive and pathways give way to magnificent gardens of palms, cordelines, camellias, decorative urns brimming with flowers and trees that one could believe had been sculpted by one of the most talented of artists. Italian gods and legends sit amongst this tranquillity and alongside an inviting swimming pool of pale blue. The pine trees offer a cool and serene spot to relax in the hammock or dine al fresco. Look closer and you will see the delightful consecrated chapel.
Enter through the porticos where outdoor living is celebrated here in Villa Tonia. Elegant and imposing, this white washed villa is typical of Italian living; grand and imposing, theatrical and memorable yet comfortable and homely, familiar and cosy. Guests at Villa Tonia are invited to relax and enjoy, well provided for by her owners who reside on site in their own independent villa with separate gardens and entrance.
A location to suit everyone, Villa Tonia is just 4km from the historical centre of the ancient walled city of Fasano and just 7km from the coast at Savelletri. Fasano extends from the hills to the sea with rich Mediterranean vegetation set against the white washed trulli homes.
Stepping outside of the villa, this peaceful area of Puglia is well renowned for Fasanolandia - Italy’s largest zoo-safari, for its fishing hamlets of Savelletri and the healing springs of Torre Canne. The dramatic coastline is dotted with fine sandy coves and crystal clear waters.
For those who enjoy the fairways, there is the challenging San Domenico golf course. History of course abounds in Fasano with ancient churches and the archaeological dig of Egnatia.
Living amongst the Italians in this quaint residential area, Villa Tonia is 3.5 kms from the local railway station which allows guests to really explore this region of Puglia, the train track lies approximately 400m from Villa Tonia, but cannot be seen.
