September 2014 "...Dear Vito and Antonia We are very satisfied staying here the whole week. Everything was fantastic, particularly : - perfect garden, comfortable home, refreshing pool, effective grill & tasteful vegetable garden. So it looks that everything was nice"

August 2013 "...Staying in Villa Tonia over the past wee we have been treated and indulged with beautiful facilities; an amazing pool and an overall fantastic stay in Italy. We have taken advantage of the local area, frequently visiting Fanno and the sea. The fresh produce from the gardens which we have barbequed and cooked has opened our eyes to some of the wonders of Italian Cuisine. The cool and relaxing atmosphere - highly contrasting to the weather-has been perfect for our stay. The owners have been nothing but supportive in making sure aour stay here has been perfect and we are extremely grateful "

October 2012 "...Dear Vito & Tonia Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality, for the cake, the fruit flan and the breakfast you surprised us with which we all enjoyed as we did the wine. All of these extra touches that you supply demonstrate the warm and caring hosts that you are. We had everything we could have asked for in Villa Tonia, so thank you again. Vito a special thanks also for coming to find us when we got lost at such a late hour of our first night. Thank you"

July 2012 "...Thank you for much for a fantastic stay at your amazing Villa Tonia. A week here relaxing, eating and slowing down was just what we needed. You are the most excellent hosts who serve up superb surprises which makes our days - like a cherry on top of the ice cream. Our stay has exceeded all expectations - the house, the pool, the food and the beaches. We are very grateful for everything and had the best time and an amazing holiday. "

August 2011 "...Villa Tonia is absolutely beautiful. Vito and Tonia have poured a lot of love into it and it really shows. All the fixtures and fittings are high quality, as is the decor, with Tonia's own paintings on the walls. It's also spacious. We were a party of 7 and never felt as if we were cramped. Vito and Tonia were very welcoming and, although we didn't speak Italian and they don't speak English, we had no trouble communicating using their computer. Nothing was too much trouble for them - Tonia even drove us to the hospital and dealt with everything when our son was taken ill, and then turned up with Grappa afterwards to help us adults get over the shock! I'd have no hesitation in recommending it."
The Carr Family
July 2011 "...We stayed for two weeks and opted to have many of our meals cooked by our hostess, Tonia. Breakfasts were superb, with a wide variety of breads, pastries, eggy dishes such as omelettes, meats, cereals and yoghurts. Dinners were huge feasts, and consisted of at least four courses, in true Puglian tradition. Barbecues of meat and fish, and sumptuous banquets of antipasti, pasta, a meat course and dessert and fruit were washed down with house rose wine and prosecco. Vegetables are grown on Vito and Tonia's small estate. The pool is generously sized, with a small diving board, bedrooms are spacious and the villa is decorated with Tonia's own artwork. The large garden is magnificently planted with giant cacti, mature palms and colourful hibiscus, and the in pineta a superbly comfortable hammock proved popular. The villa is wonderfully located to visit Alberobello, Polignare a Mare, Cisternino, Locotorondo, Ostuni and Martina Franca, all of which are under half a hour's drive away and are blessed with wonderful architecture and great restaurants. The mind-blowing city of Matera is only 90 minutes away by car, while the nearby Zoosafari the Grotte de Castellana also provide a wet weather alternatives. Although the Villa lacks a view, it is a great centre for touring a fascinating part of Puglia and Vito and Tonia could not have been more attentive and generous hosts. There is a free wi-fi connection. Heartily recommended Tim Woffenden"

April 2011 "...From the original conversation regarding Villa Tonia to our return the experience we had was excellent. The consultants at Cottages to Castles were extremely helpful throughout and able to resolve our queries quickly. The description of the villa on the website was very accurate and the pictures gave a real feel for the villa. The owner was very accommodating from the initial booking when he agreed to add an extra bed for my daughter at no extra cost. He was also able to accommodate a late arrival for us when our flights were changed. Throughout our stay, Vito and Tonia were welcoming and attentive hosts. Vito responded to any issues in the villa quickly and was clearly really keen to ensure we had a fantastic stay. Tonia cooked us some fabulous treats from coconut tart to focaccia. She even made a special focaccia for one of the family who is gluten intolerant so that he could enjoy the local food as well. They also provided us with a set of bikes to use as the local area is ideal for cycling around. The villa is truly stunning and comfortable and the grounds are really relaxing. The location is really convenient for travelling around Puglia which is a really beautiful part of Italy. We would happily return to this villa. The only thing to mention is that the villa could benefit from some instructions on how to use some of the facilities - the heating in particular as we had to call Vito out from his home to help us work it one evening. Also, if people are arriving late they should makde sure they have some basic provisions for the morning or ask for Vito and Tonia to give them breakfast which they offered us the following day."

July 2010 "...We spent a very pleasant 2 weeks at Villa Tonia. The villa is very nice with the benefit of air-conditioning. The bed rooms were comfortable and the verandah very pleasant and shaded. The pool and gardens were lovely and the Villa well maintained and equipped. Vita and Tonia were very generous and helpful with many nice touches such as breakfast pastries and even a home cooked supper of rabbit and potatoes with prosecco. I would recommend this villa whole heartedly."

The house is beautiful and the garden is just enchanting and very well kept. The food prepared by Antonia was delicious and we were so pleased to have tasted so many local regional dishes. August 2010 "...We had a wonderful stay at Villa Tonia. The owners, Vito and Antonia were gracious and considerate hosts. The web photos hardly do the property justice – it is truly beautiful, the house, gardens and pool are are kept in absolutely pristine condition. The location is also highly recommended, the airports, amenities, beaches and sites of historic interest are all within easy reach. A marvellous holiday. "
