October 2014 "...Our accommodation in Tuscany was great also. It is situated in very peaceful, picturesque surroundings. The unit is above the owners property and has the most beautiful views overlooking Olive groves and Vineyards. The swimming pool was a huge hit with the children, especially after a long day of sightseeing, they really enjoyed coming home to the pool. The unit is not huge but quite gorgeous and is probably quite typical of Italian buildings of its type, so it really did feel like we were well ensconced in Italian rural life. Also, it is very well kept and traditionally decorated by the owners: Maria and Ronaldo. We didn't see much of Ronaldo, but Maria, again was just lovely. Her english is limited but we still managed to be able to communicate so it wasn't a huge hindrance. She is the most lovely person and very welcoming and helpful. Her wine and olive oil produced by the farm was also really good. And, she showed our girls how to make pizza which they just loved doing. It is a great location, if you want to experience the countryside but also be close to a village with all the amenities (Casaglion Fiorentino, about 20 minutes away, and it is on the main train line). It has wifi which was good for us, and a washing machine is available for 2 or 3 euros a wash. Was sad to leave after 7 days stay. "

July 2014 "...These are my thoughts: FANTASTIC care.. love… fun and attention from Maria & Ronaldo. Gorgeous setting with pool and relax areas. Absolutely a winner. Villa authentic and comfortable. Maria hosted a birthday party for me which she also invited the other staying guests to. Loved the whole experience! "

September 2013 "...With regards to La Nona in Tuscany - brilliant, could not have asked for better. Maria was a lovely host, it is a great location (found it without GPS - Thanks Navman!) and a perfect place for day trips to the other centres. "

September 2013 "...The honeymoon is sadly over!! Thank you for all your help and advice, and for arranging this villa for us. We really loved our week here. It is beautifully situated – remote enough to be peaceful, yet within easy reach of lovely old hill towns and vineyards. The villa, swimming pool and especially the views were all great, and Maria was very welcoming, despite the language barrier. There were comments on the website about a dark & dingy sitting room, however we didn’t find this – it was instead a cool retreat from the heat. I think the only downside was that there were a lot of biting bugs which were a nuisance, however that’s probably the same everywhere in such a climate. Thank you once again "

July 2013 "...Hi Don The villa was lovely in perfect surroundings. A little remote so a car is necessary. The owner was lovely and very accommodating. We were spoilt with a bottle of olive oil and her home made red wine both were beautiful. There could have been more lighting for the evening and we had three light bulbs that had blown so it made things a littler darker. The pool was lovely and very well maintained. As a suggestion an information pack with suggested things to do locally, including maps etc. We were sorry that we couldn't spend the whole week due to our sons illness which kept us in Milan longer. Just perfecto! Garci! "

May 2012 "...Hi Sarah Outstanding views over Tuscan country - warm welcome - could have better lighting inside apartments - probably too rustic for our tastes BUT we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I found our dealings with you very helpful and informative thank you. Pauline"

August 2011 "...Maria was brilliant. She was the perfect hostess and went out of her way to ensure our comfort and convenience. The apartment was splendid, she showered us with vegetables, gave us free olive oil and let us buy her wine. The pool was perfect, and she attended to it every morning before we swam, ensuring that it was clean and that the water was not only treated but circulated for a good length of time. She took me to the police when I lost my phone and even invited us to two family parties. "

September 2011 "...Dear Daniella, We really enjoyed our stay at Apartment Nonna. Maria was a great host - ever so welcoming and helpful. She even gave us a bowl of fresh tomatoes upon arrival! The apartment was clean, well-equipped and we happily cooked several meals in. The views are stunning and pool well-maintained. If you are keen to hear of any elements which could be improved then there were a couple of very minor things: some beer and/or water glasses would have been good and the lounge area could benefit from an extra lamp or two. Thanks also for your help on the telephone and for the wifi code. I think we were definitely better at Nonnas then the more remote place. Best wishes Jane"

June 2010 "...The owners Maria and Rinaldo were very nice, and we enjoyed their olive oil. The apartment was dark downstairs which we didn't like so much. The swimming pool was fantastic. Kitchen equipment very basic. Pretty area."

June 2010 "...We had a lovely holiday at Apartment Nonna in Italy, our only negative aspect was that we were away during the World Cup and the small tv that was there couldn’t pick up the football matches. That’s the only thing – otherwise had a great time."

June 2010 "...We loved our stay at Apartment La Nonna, it was just the holiday that we wanted to have. Location: Excellent, views brilliant, easy to find, easy to get to surrounding villages, towns. Good to excellent restaurants to choose from in the area. Local grocery & amenities very nearby. Pool: clean, excellent size, plenty of lounge chairs to choose from and areas for in or out of sun Apartment: clean, everything we needed, quiet. Owner: Very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend and would like to return there one day."

July 2008 "...Hi Don, Many Many thanks for your help and information on Italy. We had the most amazing time, La Madonnina was such a perfect place to stay, initially we were a bit concerned that it seemed to be miles out, but soon got into the swing of things and it truly was just perfect, so close to everything, and all the other little villages, we would spend the day visiting, have a long lunch then back to La Madonnina in time for a vino some cheese and meat for a light dinner. Just perfect Maria and Ronaldo were such great hosts, we spent a couple of nights with them and there family, My family have been orchardist's for years and Ronaldo was most impressed with my knowledge of his fruit trees, even suggested I could come and work for him!! Such lovely people. So a very big thank you to you. Kind Regards Sue "
