August 2012 "...Hi We had a really fantastic week at Casa Vallecchio. Paulo and Paula were such lovely hosts and the Casa was perfect – cool, clean and very comfortable. The location is something else – the drive up is something to be endured the first time but gets better after each journey. But the peace and tranquility when you get there are worth it! Stunning views, a relaxing pool and Paula’s home grown tomatoes, basil and water melons made for a memorable week in Tuscany. "

August 2015 "...We thought the villa and the pool were very good and the views were amazing. However, I think it should be made clear that you require a sturdy car to make the last mile to the villa which is basically off road. Also, there is no oven at the property only a hob and microwave. We had a great time and a well deserved rest - interspersed with visits to Florence, Pisa and Sienna -after a week's activity holiday in France I hope these comments are helpful to you. "
Faye Chaston
August 2012 "...On the first approach to the casa the road seemed a bit of a challenge but very soon we became quite at home with the single track steep access. Its well worth hiring a fairly powerful car for the duration as a small car with four adults would struggle with the climb. The accommodation was perfect, a classic Tuscan mountain house with all the mod cons and views to die for. The hosts, who shared part of the villa, would frequently leave us some fresh produce from their garden and it was a comfort to know they were not far away if we needed advice. All in all we had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. "

July 2012 "...Everything was great. The property and the owners offered countless positive possibilities and experiences. Completley satisfied with our time there and the service and attentiveness of our hosts. Cottages to Castles process also very satisfactory. No surprises. Thank you"
Alfred Macleod
"...Casa Vallecchio was a hugely successful choice with the entire family and we can't recommend it highly enough to others. Please send our best wishes to Paola and Paolo."

July 2011 "...We were very happy with our experience at Casa Vallecchio. The villa was as expected and Paolo and Paola were very friendly and hospitable. "

August 2010 "...This is a delightful property. The owners were lovely, very helpful and make you feel at home instantly. The directions are very good – which is just as well as you find yourself doubting if you have taken the right road! It would however be an assistance to have a printed map to assist as this is a very “off-road” location. The property itself is of a high standard and the views are absolutely stunning."
Paul
"...We have had a delightful holiday. Well worth the drive up the hill. Casa Vallecchio is beautiful and more than we had hoped for. The surrounding area is so very interesting to explore. Thank you both for making this a holiday to remember. "
Tracy and Phil Duddington
"...The road may be tortuous but when paradise lays at the end, the effort more than proves the worth. Paulo and Paula, you are so lucky to live in one of the most idyllic places on this planet. Thank you for allowing us (with Mike and Muriel) to share it with you for a short while and also for your warmth and generous hospitality."
Tony and Mary Dillon
"...We had a great week everything just as we had hoped for. The villa, view and the company. Many thanks for everything. We hope to return one day with a much better gasp of Italian."
Sue and Karl Kendall

"...If you are reading this you have successfully negotiated the road to Casa Vallechio - congratulations. We have enjoyed our stay here in this beautiful setting. Although Florence is beautiful, our favourite hilltop towns are San Gimignano, Greve and Lucca. This will indeed be a holiday to remember."
Sharon and Geoff Knight
"...How many times can you say 'wow' in an hour, a day or a week? A beautiful part of the world. Gorgeous villa and most wonderful people. We have had a really special holiday - honeymoon and will treasure many special memories."

June 2010 "...Casa Vallechio is a very special property, in a unique location. It is situated in the hills above Florence, and you can ideed see the dome of the Cathedral from the terrace. The house itself dates from at least the early sixteenth century, and externally it retains a pleasing sense of its age, but internally everything has been scrupulously and elegantly modernised, giving every comfort to guests. The bedrooms are very spacious, with wonderful views, the bathrooms spotless, there is a small lounge area, and a large and well equipped kitchen. Outside, the views from the terrace and pool are quite breathtaking, and there is an attractive loggia in which to take meals. We were fortunate that the weather throughout our stay was perfect, so we spent virtually all our time outside. Even when it was very hot, there was always a cool breeze up here at the house. We have rarely if ever stayed in so spectacular a location. The road up to Casa Vallechio is extremely rough and difficult to negotiate, though it is worth it when one arrives! From Antella, the nearby town, there is an excellent bus service into Florence, the journey taking under half and hour. To have such a city on the doorstep, of course, is an additional pleasure for anyone staying at Casa Vallechio. Finally, our hosts, the Gambassinis, could not have been more welcoming or charming, and we have lovely photos of them with us on the terrace, taken on the final morning. This was a most memorable week in a remarkable spot, and we could not have enjoyed it more."
Raymond & Rosamund Calcraft
